About Danubia NanoTech

Founded in 2004, Danubia NanoTech has been an expert in carbon-based nanomaterials. Our team has deep expertise in fundamental properties of low-dimensional structures combined with long-lasting experience with graphene R&D. We authored and co-authored about 300 scientific publications in the field of synthesis, characterization and properties of graphene, carbon nanotubes and other two-dimensional materials.

Our Story

2.jpg

Besides manufacturing high-quality graphene for various applications (e.g. transparent conductive and anticorrosive coatings), We Developed Synthesis  Method of a New Class of Two-Dimensional Materials, 2D METAL IODIDES, embedded in graphene (PATENT APPLICATION NUMBER: EP24195344.7).

We also develop carbon-based custom solutions for individual needs of our partners. We can support them in R&D projects – from partial research tasks to complex carbon-related research.

Danubia Nanotech is holder of European Union Seal of Excellence and its research, development and production of carbon nano-materials is ISO 9001:2015 certified.

In August 2023, our company underwent a significant transformation with the entry of a financial investor, strengthening our strategic vision and growth potential.

The primary goal of Danubia NanoTech has been to unfold our in-house production of graphene from a market commodity to a smart tool for chemistry towards simple but powerful syntheses of other 2-dimensional materials with desired properties.

In a close international collaboration with the University of Vienna (Austria), CY Cergy-Paris University (France), West-Bohemian University in Pilsen (Czechia), National Institute for Materials Science in Tsukuba (Japan), University of Silesia in Katowice (Poland), Max Planck Institute in Stuttgart (Germany), Korea Institute of Science and Technology in Jeonbuk (Korea) and a number of industrial partners, we have marked a major milestone in our innovation journey and introduced a whole class of novel 2-dimensional materials.

To ensure transparency and further development, we commissioned an expert valuation of our know-how, effective as of December 31, 2023. In May 2024, we successfully renewed

our ISO certification, confirming our adherence to the highest quality standards. Subsequently,

the Slovak Academy of Sciences extended our certificate for research and development activities.

Under the leadership of Prof. Skákalová, our scientific team developed a new

method for producing a new class of 2D materials, which we filed as a European patent application through the German Patent Office.

Furthermore, our company signed Letters of Intent (LOIs) with three companies in the field of railcar manufacturing and repair. The goal of this collaboration is to apply graphene to improve the durability of their products, contributing to further technological advancements.

Our interest in the aspect of potential toxicity of our materials resulted in participation of Danubia NanoTech in a current EU project “NanoInformatics Approaches for Safe-by-Design NanoMaterials “ (CompSafeNano) funded by EU. Together with experts in bio-toxicology and theorists in material modeling we test the effect of the materials offered in this webpage on the living cells. The outcome of our investigation will certainly be publicly announced and reflected in  eventual modifications of production and in recommendations for users.

We look forward to future challenges and the opportunities our innovations will bring.
