Our focus is development and production of high quality ready-made carbon materials (i.e. graphene and carbon nanotubes) prepared in various forms and modifications. Characterization datasheet, as a part of delivery, provides information on the crystal structure, concentration of defects, particle´s form and dimensions, purity, content of functional groups. If requested, we also provide characterization of optical, electrical, thermal and mechanical properties.

Our other focus is the development of custom solutions for individual needs of our partners and customers. We will support you within your R&D project as a contract research organization – from small partial research tasks to complex carbon-related research. We actively participate in various research projects or conduct a contract-research.

With our industrial partners, we also focus on research of carbon materials applied in supercapacitors. We strongly believe that improved materials for this technology will be needed in new smart transportation concepts and energy storage.

OUR TEAM

VIERA SKAKALOVA

HEAD OF RESEARCH

Viera studied physics at Slovak University of Technology and received her PhD degree from Slovak Academy of Sciences and an Associate Professor degree in solid state physics from Slovak University of Technology. In her scientific career, she worked on various R&D projects at Max-Planck Institute in Stuttgart, at Weimann Institute of Science in Israel and at University of Vienna. She is an author and co-author of many scientific or pedagogical publications in the fields of molecular monolayers, conductive polymers, fullerenes and carbon nanotubes, an editor of a book focused on graphene, a referee for many scientific journals focused on physics, advanced materials, carbon and other physical topics and an organizer of several scientific symposia in these areas.

PATRIK KRIZANSKY

BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

Patrik received his executive MBA degree from the Carlson School of Management (University of Minnesota) and Wirtschaftsuniversität Vienna (WU Wien). He also holds a master degree in International Affairs and Diplomacy. Before joining Danubia NanoTech, he worked in various consulting and management positions for several private companies focused on renewable energy, e-mobility and energy efficiency. In his career, he has been focused on the business development, project management, marketing and sales.


VILIAM VRETENAR

MATERIAL RESEARCHER

Viliam studied material engineering at the Slovak University of Technology and received his PhD degree from the Institute of Physics of at the Slovak Academy of Sciences. Since 2005, he has been working in the area of carbon nanotubes synthesis within several research projects at Max-Planck Institute in Stuttgart and at Institute of Nanostructured Materials (CNR) in Bologna. He has developed strong competencies in the semiconducting devices, in characterization of the thermo-physical properties of solids with emphasis on heterogeneous structures as well as in carbon nanotube synthesis methods.

MARTIN HULMAN

MATERIAL DEVELOPER

Martin studied physics at Comenius University in Bratislava and received his PhD degree from University of Vienna. Since 2000, he has been working in the area of carbon nanotubes within several research projects at Max-Planck Institute in Stuttgart, at University of Vienna and at Austrian Institute of Technology. He has developed strong competencies in the research and applications of composites of advanced materials with graphene and carbon nanotubes.


PETER KOTRUSZ

CHEMIST

Peter, as a professional in organic chemistry of low-dimensional carbon structures studied organic chemistry at Comenius University in Bratislava where he received also his PhD degree. He was engaged in several research projects at Syngenta Basel, at University of Bologna and at Institute of Nanostructured Materials (CNR) in Bologna and in various R&D assignments for private companies (Ciba, Novartis, Syngenta, Actelion). He has developed strong competencies in the synthetic chemistry and graphene/graphite oxide preparation.

MARCEL MESKO

MATERIAL DEVELOPER

Marcel studied physics at Saga University, Japan and received his PhD degree from Masaryk University in Brno, Czech Republic. He was engaged in several research projects at Shizuoka University, Japan, at Université Paris-Sud and at lighting manufacturer Osram. He has deep know-how in plasma characterization, thin film deposition, carbon nanotubes, PIII, magnetron sputtering and HiPIMS.
